Anna-Maria’s paintings, art objects and animations are subtle critiques of society’s utilitarian perception of human beings. Because we, humans, are more than numbers. Coming originally from Kyiv, she saw exactly how blind obedience and stone cold rationality can become weapons of destruction. Which is why she warns us against complete rationalisation of what it means to be human.

With saturated colours, ambiguous characters, and ironic undertones, her works encourage people to stop seeing their emotional side as a weakness. As well as to embrace the multitudes and complexity within themselves.
